The REAL Slow Fat Triathlete

Right.  It's official.  Well, it's on Facebook, which is the same thing.

I am taking part in the London Olympic Distance Triathlon on September 23rd.  Definitely.  No backing down now.  I've even done a fundraising page, and everything.

The lovely people at Vodafone also allow people to donate via a mobile phone to 70070.  You can allocate your own 4 letters and any 2 numbers between 49 and 99.  I really haven't grown up at all, how shocking.

Oddly enough, you can donate £1, £2, £5 OR £10.  No other amount.  Not £20, or £7.50, or €11.  Or any amount of Indian Rupees.  CS tried.  He is still trying.  He's a bit like that, bless.

Anyway, I decided that I was going to call myself the REAL Slow Fat Triathlete on justgiving.com because it's time to face facts. I really am.  And I'm getting slower and fatter over time.  I wouldn't necessarily mind if I started off fast and fit, but I didn't.  I blame the cake.

I know I'm slow because I'm slower than the original "slow" "fat" triathlete.  I know I'm fat because I'm fatter than the original "slow" "fat" triathlete.  And about 15lbs heavier than someone of my weight should be.  I asked Inspirational Steve for advice about nutrition when doing a sprint triathlon (boringly extremely important when you're Diabetic and don't want to end up arse over tit).  He recommended only taking one bottle of drink on the bike ride because "you don't want to be carrying an extra 500g weight".  Then looked me up and down, paused, and added "... however in your case it doesn't really matter.  Um.  More cake?"

It's Inspirational Steve's triathlon next week, 10th June.  6am.  It's CS's birthday next week.  9th June.  All day.  Oops.
